The Crossroads DUI program focuses very heavily on why a person drinks and drives. Research indicates that drinking drivers make a decision prior to drinking that places them behind the wheel once intoxicated. They make this decision fully aware of the consequences and risks. The DUI program allows individuals to explore their decision-making process rather than look at gory films about accidents and the effects of alcohol on the body. Participants examine the purpose for their drinking and decide ahead of time the decisions and choices they will make in the future that will allow them to control this dangerous, self-destructive behavior. This facilitator guide leads the instructor through each component of the curriculum and features detailed activity instructions in the appendix.
