This curriculum is a condensed version of NCTI’s 48-hour Cognitive Life Skills Level 2 curriculum, which allows facilitators to target specific criminogenic needs in a shorter class format.  The Cognitive Life Skills program developed by the National Curriculum and Training Institute and delivered in partnership with the American Probation and Parole Association parallels the recognized principles of effective interventions.  This Cognitive Life Skills program aligns with the recognized principals of effective interventions by addressing the criminogenic needs of the offender, utilizing a cognitive behavioral approach, responding to the offender’s individual needs, and ensuring the fidelity of the program. A user friendly workbook incorporating NCTI's Personal Awareness Journaling(tm) that emphasizes the cognitive interaction of the curriculum is utilized in this program.
