Assault

The Crossroads Assault program focuses on teaching individuals the skills they need to help them control their propensity to use violence. The program is based on the premise that violence is never acceptable and that any lasting solution to a problem must be achieved through negotiation and compromise.

The program teaches individuals key skills and coping strategies in such areas as expressing strong feelings, dealing with family responsibilities, managing interpersonal relationships, abusing alcohol and drugs, and managing stress.

During the Crossroads Assault workshop, participants will:

  • Understand why people use violence.
  • Learn how to identify and control strong emotions.
  • Gain better self-control.
  • Attain better communication skills.
  • Learn to walk away from confrontations.
  • Make a commitment never to assault another person.
