Domestic Violence

Through the use of a unique, interactive model, the Domestic Violence program aids the offender in accepting responsibility for his or her actions. It teaches the skills necessary to cope with interpersonal problems in a nonviolent manner.

The program's major themes are:
1) People are not for hitting.
2) Violence undermines the purpose of a family and a home.
3) Problems temporarily solved with violence are never permanently solved.
4) There is no excuse for abuse.

During the Crossroads Domestic Violence program, participants will:

  • Accept responsibility for their actions.
  • Learn why they use violence to try to solve problems.
  • Understand how attitude affects behavior.
  • Gain better self-control.
  • Understand the process necessary to change their behavior.
  • Make a commitment never to use to violence in relationships with others.
