Drugs and Alcohol

The Drugs & Alcohol program does not focus on chemical addiction. Instead, it helps individuals understand the decision pocess they go through when they choose to ingest harmful substances. It does not focus on what drugs do to the body. Research indicates that knowing the effects drugs and alcohol have on the body has little impact in decreasing or eliminating use.

.This program does explore patterns of use and contributing attitudes. The individual learns how to face the challenges of abstinence and altering present substance abusing behavior patterns.

An Intensive Drug & Alcohol workshop is also available, or NCTI can design criminogenic specific modules on request.

During the Crossroads Drugs & Alcohol workshop, participants will:

  • Accept responsibility for their actions.
  • Understand the personal price paid for drug use.
  • Understand the process of changing negative behavior.
  • Gain better self-control.
  • Learn the process necessary to change behavior.
  • Make a commitment to refrain from using drugs and abusing alcohol.
