Minor in Possession

The Minor in Possession program is designed to provide individuals between 18-21 years of age, who have committed drug or alcohol offenses, the opportunity to examine their negative behavior and give them the tools to change it.

The program focuses on dispelling the cultural myths surrounding alcohol/drugs, understanding why one drinks/uses drugs, and overcoming peer pressure. Time is spent exploring other activities that can replace the "high" that results from drinking/drugging. The program is upbeat and exciting and allows participants to make informed and thoughtful decisions about drinking/drugging.

During the Crossroads Minor in Possession program, participants will:

  • Understand why they drink and/or use drugs.
  • Understand the effects of alcohol and drugs on their life.
  • Understand how to take positive control of their life.
  • Develop a plan to alter present drinking/drugging behavior.
  • Establish positive, goal-directed behavior patterns.
  • Develop personal life skills and alternative resources.
