Restlessness is typical of the young, as is the act of testing boundaries. The Crossroads Curfew program is based on a foundation of values, attitudes and behavior. The program addresses a range of issues commonly encountered by adolescents. Offenders learn how to avoid negative peer influences, handle stress, take responsibility for themselves, and balance their need for freedom with a respect for authority and the law.
The skills-based program is effective with first-time as well as repeat offenders who need to develop the necessary skills to enable them to make positive changes in their lives.
During the Crossroads Curfew Violation program, participants will:
- Understand the process of changing negative behavior.
- Discover how attitudes can override values.
- Learn how to avoid negative influences.
- Develop a plan to alter their present behavior.
- Establish positive, goal-directed behavior patterns.
- Make a firm commitment to never to repeat as a criminal offender.
