Many adults agree that teenagers and cars can be a dangerous mix; a reality that is reflected in the high insurance rates for young drivers. But there is much more than money on the line.
The Crossroads Defensive Driving - Traffic Safety Program focuses on teaching young drivers how their behind-the-wheel attitudes affect their driving behavior. Most traffic accidents are the result of a combination of driver ignorance, uncontrolled emotions, improper decisions, and bad habits. Unless these issues are curbed, they become engrained, endangering the driver and others every time they get behind the wheel.
The Crossroads Defensive Driving - Traffic Safety program is designed to address basic traffic laws. During the program participants have the opportunity to objectively look at their driving behavior and make a personal commitment to positively alter their driving habits.
During the Crossroads Defensive Driving - Traffic Safety program, participants will:
- Discover how their attitude affects their driving behavior.
- Realize how attitudes can override values.
- Reflect on their behavior through NCTI's "Personal Awareness Journaling".
- Review proper driving techniques.
- Set goals that will help avoid future driving problems.
- Commit to never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Develop a renewed awareness of driving responsibilities.
- Make a firm commitment to change at least one bad driving habit.
