Misdemeanor Offense

Growing up is a difficult time, even under the best of circumstances. Making mistakes and testing boundaries are normal behaviors, but kids can and will make bad decisions, especially when under poor influences and/or little supervision. Without intervention, the ramifications of continued poor choices can alter the course of their life forever. But that doesn't have to be the outcome.

The focus of this specialized Crossroads program is addressing the needs of young people who have entered the court system for any one of a wide variety of offenses. This skills-based program is very effective with first-time offenders.

The Crossroads Misdemeanor Offenses program builds a foundation based on values, attitudes and behavior. The broad scope addresses issues most commonly encountered by these individuals. Participants learn how to avoid negative influences, handle stress effectively and take responsibility for themselves.

During the Crossroads Misdemeanor Offenses workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the process of changing negative behavior.
  • Discover how attitudes can override values.
  • Determine how to avoid negative influences.
  • Develop an action plan to alter their negative behavior.
  • Establish positive, goal-directed behavior patterns.
  • Make a firm commitment never to repeat as a criminal offender.
