Tobacco Possession

Growing up in today's world may be more difficult than any other time in history. Working parents, non-working parents and single parent families mean that many young people are left on their own to figure out what to do with their lives.

Lack of positive role models, the influence of the media, and peer pressure causes a lot of confusion for young people, and makes it difficult for them to get a clear message about what is right and wrong. Left to their own devices, many kids will make poor choices.

The purpose of this class is to help youth examine how they are preparing for tomorrow and to decide if the things they are doing now will help them be as happy and successful as they want to be in the future.

During the Crossroads Tobacco Possession program, participants will:

  • Learn how to change their behavior and improve their decision-making skills.
  • Understand how the future is affected by the choices they make today.
  • Learn to use resources and skills that promote a healthy, positive lifestyle.
  • Recognize and get involved in new activities that align with their areas of interest and personal goals.
  • Practice relaxing through the use of relaxation techniques.
