As a Real Colors Certified Facilitator, you’re the person your organization looks to for culture change when it comes to communication and collaboration. While the Real Colors Foundational Workshop starts the conversation, culture is actually built through repetition, shared language, and consistent application over time.
Why Real Colors Sticks
Most personality assessments give you information. Real Colors gives you an experience. That difference is everything.
Researchers from Duke University and the University of Berlin found that ‘aha moments‘ during learning nearly double memory retention. These flashes of insight activate the hippocampus, the brain’s memory center, and the stronger the insight, the longer it lasts.
Real Colors is built to generate these particular types of moments. The Brightening activity alone tends to produce three: that’s exactly how I think (self-recognition), now their behavior makes sense (understanding others), and that’s why that conversation felt so hard (communication breakthrough). Each one deepens retention and carries the learning far beyond the room.
It’s why Real Colors participants report using their insights years later while other assessments fade in weeks.
Keeping It Active
Real Colors sticks, but even deeply encoded learning can benefit from practice. Think of it less like maintenance and more like fluency. A musician who learns a piece well still plays it regularly.
Here’s how to keep yours in use.
Start with yourself. Stay fluent in your full Color Spectrum — not just your Primary Color, but how your Secondary Color shows up and what your stress behaviors look like. A simple daily check-in like: what color am I leading with today? takes thirty seconds and can shift your entire approach to the day. End-of-day reflection works too. Where did your strengths show up? Where did stress take over?
For a visual anchor, log into RealColors.me, create your color license plate, print it, and post it at your desk. Small prompt. Consistent impact.
Use the language. Real Colors is most powerful when it lives in conversation. We may need more Gold on this. Let’s bring in some Blue here. That kind of shorthand names dynamics without making them personal — and reduces friction before it starts. Model it naturally, and others will follow.
Apply it to real moments. Two questions worth asking regularly: What color does this situation need? and How can I flex my style to be more effective here? These work in meetings, in conflict, in delegation — anywhere style differences affect outcomes.
Build simple habits. A color check-in at the start of meetings. A weekly reflection: where did I use my strengths well? Consistency matters more than complexity here.
The Right Tools Help
RealColors.me is your home base between workshops. It gives you and your participants ongoing access to Primary Color insights, the license plate builder, downloadable virtual backgrounds, and social sharing options. Return to it often, it keeps the framework accessible without relying on memory alone.

From Insight to Culture
The goal isn’t just individual awareness. It’s a team where Real Colors becomes part of how people actually work together — where differences in style are resources, not friction, and where people consistently feel understood.
When organizations get there, the payoff is real. Communication improves across levels and functions. Teams navigate conflict more productively because people understand why others think and work the way they do. Collaboration gets easier. New employees onboard into a culture that already has a shared language for connection. Leaders make better decisions about how to communicate, delegate, and motivate — because they’re working with people’s actual wiring, not assumptions. Over time, Real Colors stops being something the organization did and becomes part of how it operates.
That culture is built by facilitators like you, showing up with the language and the tools, again and again.
Keep it simple. Keep it alive. The workshop planted the seeds — your consistency is what makes them grow.
