Facilitating in a World with Shorter Attention and Less Patience

You’re halfway through a session you’ve led many times before. The content is solid. The flow is familiar. Yet, something feels different. People are checking their phones more often. Questions that used to spark discussion now get shorter responses. The room, or the virtual space, feels more difficult to manage than it used to.

Nothing is “wrong,” exactly. The group isn’t resistant. You aren’t off your game. But the training space just doesn’t feel the way it used to.

More and more facilitators are noticing this shift. Attention spans are getting shorter. Tolerance for long explanations, activities, or processing sessions is decreasing. Many of us are quietly adapting in real-time without always having the chance to share notes with others experiencing the same thing.

In this Real Colors Facilitator Roundtable, we will do just that. We will share insights. We will explore how shifting attention and patience are transforming the training space and how different Colors perceive and respond to these changes. This will be a practical, experience-based discussion focused on what is effective, what is not, and how facilitators are considering adjustments.

This isn’t a training; it’s a peer learning conversation designed to uncover insights, patterns, and real-world perspectives from experienced facilitators in the field.

If you have thought, “The training space feels different lately,” this conversation is for you. Come share notes with other experienced facilitators and leave with a few ideas you can immediately try in your next session.

Objectives (Honest for a Round Table)

By the end of this round table, participants will:

  • Reflect on how attention and patience in training spaces have changed
  • Compare how different facilitators are experiencing these shifts
  • Explore how different Real Colors experience pace, depth, and process
  • Notice how their own Primary Color shapes what they think the pace should be
  • Hear how other facilitators are thinking about and responding to these changes
  • Leave with new perspective and possible ideas to consider in their own facilitation

Seats are limited for what is sure to be a lively and eye-opening discussion. Register today to reserve your spot. Participation for Real Colors Certified Facilitators is free.

Cancellations made less than 14 days before the event will be charged 50% of the registration fee. No-shows will be charged the full amount. See our Terms & Conditions for complete details.
